SPWK 2011

In 2011, Stockholm Photography Week took place between May 23 and May 29 at the Swedish Museum of Photography (Fotografiska) in Stockholm, Sweden.

The program included an international portfolio review, a wide range of seminars and workshops as well as exhibitions. It was an event for both professional photographers and amateurs, as well as for the regular photographic exhibition visitor.

 

Portfolio Reviews
35 internationally renowned experts from the field of photography (gallery owners, curators, editors, buyers, etc.) all of whom can make a difference to working photographers, reviewed the portfolios of 100 photographers over the course of two days.

Open Portfolio Night
More than 100 international photographers, participating in Fotografiska displayed their photographs for the general public to see (and to purchase).

Masters of Photography Workshops
Mary Ellen Mark and Anders Petersen both held a 5-day workshop each during the week.

Artist Talks, Seminars & Panel Discussion
Several opportunities were given to discuss and talk about the frontlines of photography, and be inspired by fascinating artist talks and lectures.

Meeting Place
In 2011 Stockholm Photography Week  proved to be an important place for meetings  (formal and informal ones), with photographers and international experts from within the field of photography. New valuable career contacts were made and business deals were signed, alongside plenty of opportunity to just hang out and have fun! The week attracted an international crowd made up of professional photographers, photo enthusiasts and a wider public interested in photography.
